Position Type:   Temporary
City:   Vancouver, BC, Canada
Location:   Vancouver H/O - Canfor/CWPM_1000 (BC13)

Canfor’s strength comes from the diversity of our skilled and resilient workforce. As our company continues to grow and diversify, so do our career opportunities. Let us take this opportunity to tell you how you could be the best fit for Canfor.

You have well established organizational skills, a high level of motivation and a desire to work in a fast-paced team environment. You communicate clearly and you successfully manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. You were born with a creative streak and love to design and build new ideas. You may not be “instafamous” but you sound pretty awesome to us!

As our Communications Co-op, you will have the opportunity to learn from and work with our Director of Communications to support a variety of communication activities. During this 8-month term, you will coordinate the production of collateral materials and will be responsible for the sponsorship, donation and scholarship commitments for Canfor’s “Good Things Come From Trees” community giving program. Your keen eye for aesthetics and details will help you design compelling PowerPoint presentations, draft content for internal and external audiences and post engaging content to our social media channels.

To qualify for this role, you are currently enrolled in a communications or design focused program, and in a perfect world, you are fluent in Microsoft Office and have basic layout and editing skills. Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) will “highlight” your application.

If you are an energetic and creative Co-op student, ready to learn from the best in the biz, smash that subscribe… we mean “apply” button, today! #ind124

Every year, Canfor hires students who gain hands-on experience and training as part of our dedicated co-op program. Work and learn with a global leader in sustainable lumber, pulp and paper, and green energy production. During a co-op placement with Canfor, you will gain exposure to the diverse operations of our business, be part of an inclusive workforce, network and make valuable connections across the forestry industry, and discover a career with Canfor. Take the knowledge you learned in the classroom and apply it to a co-op placement at Canfor!

At Canfor, diversity means understanding, recognizing and valuing the differences that make each person unique. We see inclusion and diversity as an essential part of our productivity, creativity, innovation and competitive advantage. We strive for a fair and equitable recruitment process, where hiring decisions are based on the individual qualifications and experience of each applicant.

We are not your run of the mill forest products company, join us and find out why. #canfortalent
