At Canfor, our employees are the roots of our success.

  • Wendy Wen

    Quality Control Technician
    Darlington, South Carolina

1999 was the year that I started with Canfor. What I love about this company is that they are willing to develop their employees. I started here not knowing how to grade lumber or read a tape measure, but I was taught those skills. Now, I work as a Quality Control Technician, making sure that our products are optimized for our customers around the world. At Canfor, there’s always something to learn and an opportunity to improve. I have witnessed and believe in the growth of the company, and the future looks bright.

  • Andrew Tyrell

    Planning Manager
    Fort St. John, British Columbia

My journey with Canfor began in 1995 when I started as a summer student. I’ve always loved nature and the outdoors so choosing a career in forestry was a great fit. This company offers a safe environment for employees, opportunities for development and career growth, space to share ideas, and great benefits. Canfor has provided me with a diverse career and supported my family and myself. I’m proud to recommend Canfor as a fit for anyone looking to be part of a great company that is tackling interesting challenges.

  • Josh Medlin

    Sawmill Supervisor
    Conway, South Carolina

I started working at Canfor in 2003 as a Machine Operator. Over the years, I was trained to operate all equipment and eventually moved into our Maintenance Department, where I was trained as a Millwright. Working at the sawmill is hard work but I enjoy it because of the people. It operates like a family, where we take care of each other and make sure we all go home safe. I’ve learned many skills here and built a career that I can be proud of. This mill is always changing, from the people to the equipment. It keeps you on your toes learning new things every day. I couldn’t see myself working for a better company than Canfor.

  • Teddy Townsley

    Energy Manager
    Prince George, British Columbia

At our mill sites, we’re completely focused on reducing our footprint and increasing our sustainability for the long term. I like working with people who are motivated to make a difference. I’m changing things from the inside, for the better. What’s exciting to me is that I don’t know what my future is in the industry. My job didn’t exist before I created it, and neither did my previous role.  The industry is changing so much as we push towards using less and being more sustainable. The unknown is very exciting.

  • Cory Cooper

    Indigenous Relationship Liaison
    Fort St. John, British Columbia

As the Indigenous Relationship Liaison for Woodlands North, I work with the nations within the Treaty 8 Territory. It brings me great pleasure working with Indigenous people as I love learning about our cultures and spiritual traditions and how they differ from community to community. I couldn’t be happier to work with a company like Canfor, who is so committed to building strong working relationships with Indigenous communities, for the betterment of both the company and the nations that reside in the areas we work.

  • Mike Walker

    Procurement Forester
    Urbana, Arkansas

My journey with Canfor started in 2018 as an intern for the Fiber Procurement team. My favorite part of working at Canfor are the people I work with. The company has such a family atmosphere and I knew that once I accepted a full-time role in 2019, that I’d be calling Canfor my home. People should join Canfor because this company cares about their people. The economy keeps us on our toes sometimes, but I know Canfor will take care of us. There are lots of opportunities for growth in Canfor and anyone can develop their skills and learn more about the industry.
