Assistant Production Manager-PGI

 

The Opportunity:
A key leadership opportunity exists at our Prince George Pulp and Paper Mill. As Assistant Production Manager, you will work with the Area Team Leaders and Shift Supervisors to plan, coordinate and supervise both operating and maintenance strategies for the Fibreline and Machine Room Departments to maximize production and minimize costs.

 

The Role:
This is an exciting leadership and growth opportunity within the Pulpmill which will provide strategic planning experience.

  • Ensure the highest levels of safety knowledge and awareness through the continued development and implementation of an accident prevention program
  • Assist in overseeing the daily mill optimization of production, quality, cost and environmental processes
  • Develop and implement annual performance management and training plans for Area Team Leaders and Shift Supervisors
  • Review, upgrade and maintain the integrity of all Mill policies, procedures and regulations including ISO documentation
  • Assist in the development of an annual Capital and Major Maintenance Plan including ongoing prioritization and implementation within the current budget in the Fiberline and Pulp And Paper Machine areas
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the major mill outages

The Candidate:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or the equivalent in work experience and a strong overall working knowledge of the Fibreline and Machineroom departments
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills coupled with the ability to effectively manage people in a team environment
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communications skills
  • A strong desire to advance within the organization
