Manager, Supply Chain Planning

We are seeking a dynamic Supply Chain Manager to ensure the seamless flow of lumber products from our manufacturing facilities in the US South to our reloads, VMI’s, and key global customers. In this role, you will be instrumental in implementing best practices for managing Order File, On Time Shipping, Available for Sale, and Inventory Management. Additionally, you will lead the Supply Chain Planning team, overseeing the tactical execution of order file and inventory management processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and optimize weekly and monthly processes for managing and executing supply chain components.
  • Participate in supply and demand review processes, enhancing sales and operations planning structures and systems.
  • Identify and improve processes linking the Production Planning tool to Demand and Order File Management.
  • Enhance data visibility to facilitate tactical and strategic decision-making.
  • Focus on resource optimization and improving working capital across the Canfor global supply chain.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to meet corporate objectives, provide analysis, and enhance the effectiveness of Logistics and Supply Chain departments.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
  • Manage and enhance technical functions within the Supply Chain group, focusing on Canfor EDGE suite of applications.
  • Utilize tools within EDGE to generate and maintain reports and processes.
  • Work with sales teams to develop demand forecasts for Canfor’s quarterly planning cycle.
  • Ensure continuous sharing of best practices within the Supply Chain team.
  • Provide support to key stakeholders through ad-hoc analysis and recommendations.
  • Mentor and support all team members within the Supply Chain department.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Forestry, Wood Science, or related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in supply chain planning, solid wood products industry, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Five (5) years of experience in each of the following Business Intelligence Tools: Production Planning Tool, JD Edwards, Oracle Transportation Management, Fulfillment, and PowerBI in an ERP environment
  • Three (3) years of experience in each of the following areas:
    • Lumber manufacturing processes, including log to market, production profiles, capacity constraints, and product flex opportunities.
    • Lumber Grading Standards and product optimization hierarchy.
    • Modeling product mix scenarios with large datasets using Power Query / Pivot and custom control tables.
    • Supply standards for Big Box Retailers, including quoting, setup, and execution of new vendor managed inventory program business.
    • Distribution Resource Planning based on supply matrix freight, capacity constraints, and production reliability.
    • Two (2) years of experience with custom .NET applications and their connectivity/flow through Enterprise Resource Platforms to facilitate production forecasting, available for sale offering, order file placement, and order fulfillment.

 

Other Details:

  • Telecommuting permitted up to 20% per week within the same geographic location as assigned office location, unless pre-approved by supervisor.
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Salary: $126,776- $130,000 per year
