Human Resources information System (HRIS) Business Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

The HRIS Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for overall technical business ownership of the HRIS systems framework, including case management, recruitment, learning, payroll, time and attendance. The HR BA understands end to end HR data and business processes, possess knowledge of system integrations and leads / supports teams on technical issue resolution, implementation of new modules and functionality, and facilitates business change management. The HRIS system scope includes People Doc, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC), Learning Management Systems, Recruitment Management and Marketing, EC-Payroll (Cloud) environments and new SAP SuccessFactors modules as they are implemented. In addition, the BA will provide Accenture EC and EC-P testing and reporting tools support.

The HRIS BA will also support the onboarding of any new HR data that is necessary due to mergers and acquisitions.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

System Development

  • Serve as the lead resource on human resource technology projects (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors), with a focus on end to end business data and associated processes.
  • Lead the HRIS Data Migration team in migrating business units to the HRIS (SAP Employee Central) and in making any necessary changes to the business processes as needed for any M&A integrations.  
  • For feature enhancements and/or acquisition activities, participate in the project management process including; assessing business and application requirements, design specification development, change management, system configuration,  identifying security requirements, developing test plans, coordinating test execution and implementation.
  • Capture and document non-functional requirements that are important to the user community (i.e. usability, learnability, reliability). Liaise with architecture to ensure other non-functional requirements are considered (i.e. security, compatibility, maintainability).
  • Coordinate diverse groups who contribute to business requirements and build consensus for requirements across the various user groups.
  • Communicate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and information systems to technical teams designing and implementing the solution.
  • Oversee/facilitate the implementation and test of HRIS and Kronos service packs, quarterly upgrades and other system updates.
  • Support the development, analysis and implementation of time & attendance systems to provide oversight compliance and accuracy of payroll systems
  • Serve as the expert configuration resource for implemented modules/functions of HR/Payroll applications.
  • Serve as an HR/Payroll team Business Intelligence (BI) resource/support, including coordination with the BI lead resource for requirements analysis, data modeling, testing, security, integration and query development.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in business operations or HR/Payroll Business Support.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in HRIS and/or Payroll and/or Workforce Management systems configuration and implementation, preferably in a team lead role.
  • Experience in configuring and implementing HCM modules in SAP SuccessFactors (ECC, workflow and Business Warehouse), or a similar HRIS system preferred.
  • Experience with testing and problem solving within the SAP Payroll / SAP SuccessFactors EC-Payroll is preferred.
  • Work experience in an industrial / shift worker environment with a unionized workforce is considered an asset.

  • Strong interpersonal skills – will be working with service providers and HR staff.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of office technologies (MS Excel, Outlook, and Word).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Demonstrated proactive work ethic and sense of urgency to do what it takes to get the job done.
