Major Duties: 

 

Direct supervision of planning department personnel.

Maintenance Manager in day-to-day maintenance and maintenance project activities. Periodically assumes responsibility to supervise weekend and small project crews, including contractors.

Monitor backlogged work – plant wide.

Monitor progress of construction projects. Track budgets.

Review and develop preventive maintenance tasks and schedules for all new equipment acquisitions and installations.

Review preventive maintenance schedules to ensure all work is being accomplished on time and changes to the schedules are being made as required.

Conduct periodic photo surveys and PM Audits routinely.

Prepare Weekly Maintenance Meeting essentials for attendees to include: progress towards goals and statistics, new and old business, results of the previous planning period, the current prioritized maintenance work backlog, and planned work by priority for the current planning and scheduling interval.

Participate in all plant maintenance and planning meetings.

Take part in the planning, material storage, equipment ordering/rental for major repairs and shutdowns.

Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of vendor/contractor performance.

Participate fully in all company maintenance programs. Maintain high standards and leadership for activities including: One Point Lessons (OPL’s), PdM, TPM, RCM, Quick Changeover, etc.

Track maintenance labor utilization and performance.

Develop/participate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for standard maintenance procedures and processes

Develop and process Critical Problem Reports (CPR’s) and maintain CPR record keeping systems.Responsible for ongoing maintenance and material management program implementation and usage.

 

Required Skills:

 

The Maintenance Planner’s qualifications include the following:

 

Prior computer use and CMMS experience necessary.

Prior planning, scheduling or supervisory experience necessary.

Excellent people skills.

Self-starter – high level of motivation important.

Demonstrated organizational and administration skills.

Familiarity with equipment, mechanical/electrical aptitude desirable..

Experience in inventory control and purchasing management desirable.
