The Role:
The position offers a wide range of technical and personal development opportunities in a Maintenance environment. You will be a full member of a team, reporting to the Instrumentation & Controls Specialist but responsible for managing your own work.

The intention is to provide the student with an opportunity to become familiar with the pulp and paper industry and to utilize theoretical knowledge of engineering principles in a work situation.

The successful candidate will work at our Taylor Pulp Mill and will focus on assisting with HMI programming optimization and internal webpage development. In this role, you will focus on development and maintenance in the Microsoft environment using:

  • Oracle database
  • Crystal reports (ask Don)
  • SQL tools
  • Aspen trends
  • Proficiency C#, Visual Basic
  • Microsoft desktop and Web page tools


You will also be expected to:

  • Have direct contact with employees: specifying requirements, designing and programming system changes and enhancements
  • Perform quality assurance tasks
  • Be accountable for customer satisfaction
  • Participate in departmental issues

 

 

The Candidate:

  • Minimum enrolment in second year of a Computer Science program.
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL, Visual Basic (VB & VB.NET), C# (C# & C#. NET), Active Server Pages (ASP & ASP. NET), IIS, HTML, Cascading Style Sheets, Java Script, XML/XSLT, relational databases (Oracle) and database tools
  • Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
