Position Summary 

Within the corporate Total Rewards department, the Total Rewards Specialist is responsible for the administration and analysis on domestic and international compensation programs, as well as on Canadian benefits and pension programs. This includes an active participation in program design and implementation.

 

PLEASE NOTE: This career opportunity can be based in either VANCOUVER or PRINCE GEORGE, BRITISH COLUMBIA 

 

Responsibilities

 

Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses on market and organizational data (compensation, benefits, pension, workforce demographics)
  • Interpret market practices and trends results and recommend improvements to existing practices
  • Develop financial costing models to measure the impact of various change scenarios or design options
  • Assess and report on programs performance

 

Advisory

  • Recommend job grading and pay decisions to ensure alignment with the rewards philosophy and strategies
  • Provide advice and recommendations to managers and human resources partners on various total rewards matters

 

 

Implementation and Administration

  • Administer the incentive pay and bonus plans
  • Participate in annual SEC disclosure activities
  • Develop reference, training and communication material to ensure proper governance, improve understanding and promote programs to the business and employees
  • Act as a core contributor in the design and implementation of total rewards and HRIS projects

  • Are proficient in leveraging technology to analyze and report on data. In Excel, you use advanced functions and techniques to analyze and manipulate large dataset;

  • Are recognized for your ability to independently plan and reassess priorities in response to changing situations and to honour your commitments;
  • Place a high premium on the accuracy and rigor of the work you deliver;
  • Believe in the importance of teamwork, collaboration and feedback;
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment;
  • Have a proven record of handling confidential and highly sensitive information.

 

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in actuarial sciences, commerce or human resources preferred;
  • Total Rewards certification (e.g., CCP, CBP or CEBS) or commitment to earn and maintain such designation;
  • In-depth knowledge in one or more areas of total rewards (i.e., compensation, benefits or pension) and a practical knowledge in the other areas.
