The Opportunity:

The Supervisor in Training, Wood Products is a developmental role which will report to assigned mentors. The position will offer a unique experience where professional skills will be applied in an operating manufacturing environment. Based on the requirements of the operation, a developmental plan will be implemented for the duration of the term. Learning will be hands on and you will gain firsthand supervisory experience and leadership development at one of BC’s Top Employers.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assist in maintaining the highest standards of safety at all times, leading by example and ensuring all employees follow policies, procedures and practices
  • Address unsafe conditions as required
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce cost, while safely meeting production targets.
  • Actively participate in coaching, training and supporting team members to maximize performance
  • Foster a culture of open communication with employees at all levels
  • Assist in ensuring the timely implementation of key Corporate and Operational Initiatives

 

Requirements:

  • Desire to build a career in the Forest Products Industry
  • Highly motivated individual with a strong initiative
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Safe work habits and a working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work in a team environment
  • Willingness to relocate to Canfor operations in BC and Alberta

 

Term Length:

12 months with potential to extend
