Canfor is always on the lookout for great talent! In the months ahead we’ll be looking to fill future vacant positions with our IT team at the Canfor Administration Centre in Prince George, starting in May. Our team will be looking to fill 1-3 temporary positions in the Summer of 2022 to join as a Service Desk Analyst. The contract(s) will be 12-months with the potential to develop into a permanent opportunity. You are an analytical problem solver who presents information clearly through spoken and written word. You make sound decisions, always have the customer in mind and deal with ambiguous situations in a sensible and calm manner.  You are practical by nature and know that the best way to understand a complex problem is to devour it one byte at a time.

 

This is a key role in handling day-to-day IT service requests and other IT-related issues. You will assist with the daily management of the IT Support queue and ensure tickets are assigned and resolved to achieve exceptional service levels. With your strong technical chops and emotional aptitude, you resolve challenges in a friendly and helpful manner.

 

You enjoy interacting with people and take pride in educating users on the use of hardware and software. Along with providing exceptional service, you’ll be performing user administration duties such as new user creation and account unlocking.  You won’t be responsible for preventing accidents, but will certainly be helping to stop things from “crashing”

 

Preferably, you have a degree, diploma, or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent, related experience. You are proficient with PC hardware, software, and basic networking, specifically with Microsoft technologies. Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM/ITIL) and related ticketing systems will really “Ctrl-B” your application.
