Are you a detail-oriented and motivated accounting professional looking to make a significant impact? Canfor is currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Project Accountant. Reporting to our Senior Accountant, Capital, this role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with our management team, providing crucial financial insights and support to drive our projects forward.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Manage and track costs associated with scheduled maintenance shut-downs.
- Prepare and process various month-end tasks related to shut-downs and fixed assets.
- Reconcile GL accounts for shut-downs and fixed assets.
- Complete all fixed assets transactions, including disposals, additions, and transfers.
- Administer user accounts in the purchasing and asset management system (Synergen).
- Ensure compliance with CPL policy and accounting standards (IFRS).
- Provide backup and support to the Senior Accountant, Capital.
- Occasionally travel between the three Prince George operations.
- Perform other duties and tasks assigned.
What We're Looking For:
- A Diploma in Accounting and Business Admin or equivalent work experience. Candidates pursuing a CPA designation would be considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency with MS Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- A valid driver's license and personal vehicle.

The salary range for this position is: $80,000.00-$100,000.00
