The Opportunity:
Canfor Pulp is seeking a talented and enthusiastic university graduate to undertake a paid internship as a Process Control Engineer

The Role

The pulp and paper industry provides an excellent learning opportunity for recent graduates. With exposure to process control, chemical processes and project management; the process control position provides the intern with an exciting opportunity to develop their career.

Canfor is continually investing to innovate our processes and the process control position plays an important role in this. The process control position provides challenges that will develop critical thinking, inter-personal and technical skills.

The intern will:

  • Be mentored by a professional in a leadership position at CPLP
  • Be given a competitive compensation & benefit package

  • Have the opportunity to apply for all vacancies that may arise during their internship.

The successful candidate will work on site at the mill location primarily under the direction of a Process Engineer or Process Specialist.

The Candidate:

  • You are a graduate of a Chemical Engineering Degree program within the last two years and are a member of, or eligible to register with, APEGBC at least as an Engineer in Training (EIT). Consideration will be given for other engineering disciplines with relevant coursework.
  • Forward thinking, flexible and resourceful, you can apply your technical insight and analytical abilities to develop innovative solutions.
  • Your personal attributes include well developed interpersonal and communication skills, a creative yet pragmatic approach to problem solving and the ability to work in teams.
