The Opportunity:

This position will be responsible for processing full cycle payroll and administering all benefit plans for several operations.

The Role:

This position requires well established organizational skills, a high level of motivation and energy, excellent two-way communication and preference for working in a tightly knit team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing of payroll, earnings, deductions and taxes for multiple divisions, in compliance with Labour Agreements, Statutory Regulations and Labour Standards
  • Administration and payment of all benefits in compliance with the applicable Health and Welfare plan agreements
  • Complete all year end related payroll tasks including finalizing adjustments for T4's and related reconciliations
  • Provide payroll related information as required by Operations and Senior Management
  • Coordinate with operational Human Resources and Accounting staff to ensure all processes are completed in a timely manner
  • Liaison with operating divisions for maintaining deductions, charitable donations and other divisional initiatives

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have solid experience in working with both hourly and salary payroll and work closely with all other Payroll team members to ensure all payroll functions are handled efficiently and accurately.

  • Canadian Payroll Association PCP certificate achieved or in progress with a commitment to complete
  • Several years of advanced payroll experience
  • Solid experience in year-end close and producing T4's
  • Proficient in Microsoft office
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and the desire to work in a fast paced dynamic environment
