The Position:

As a co-op student in the maintenance department, you will assist in everyday preventative maintenance tasks which will include creating, processing and finishing work requests and work orders. Depending on the successful candidates’ skills and interests, the ability to tailor and grow the responsibilities of the position may be available.

  • Knowledge in the areas of quality control, design, maintenance and purchasing systems.

Responsibilities & Duties:

The position will be based out of one of our sawmills in British Columbia and Alberta. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Planner at the respective mill, the successful applicant will be responsible for:  

  • Assisting with Best in Class Maintenance initiatives such as building Bill of Materials, creating/updating AutoCAD drawings, locking out equipment and performing measurements, creating/updating Preventative Maintenance procedures.
  • Contribute technical support and planning to Maintenance and Production departments
  • Identify, design and implement innovative, high return projects that enhance the operation and maintenance of the divisions



Required Skills:

  • Must be a self-motivated individual.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical and organizational skills.
  • Computer skills, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Well-developed people and team building skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.



Required Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in, or have graduated within the last year from, a post-secondary Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
