The Manager - Reliability and Assets is responsible for improving our facility’s manufacturing performance and facility/building maintenance. You will bring your knowledge of industry best practices and ability to utilize root cause analysis to help standardize preventative maintenance programs and further increase equipment reliability. We expect a best-in-class leader with exceptional depth of experience to take full advantage of this opportunity.

 

In this management role you will not only lead, but guide, coach, mentor and support our Reliability, Asset and Turnaround (TA) groups.  You will collaborate with Stakeholders and leadership groups throughout the operation as you help to develop, refine and maintain a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) process in the pursuit of improved equipment reliability, reduced unscheduled maintenance and reduced machine downtime.

 

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Create and maintain a reliability improvement plan.
  • Determine required reliability training and field applications for:  
    • Maintenance (mechanical, E&I) Personnel
    • Operations Personnel
    • Reliability team members
    • Salary Personnel
  • Create, determine, audit and improve reliability standards
  • Develop reliability goals and set KPI’s
  • Utilize CMMS to track maintenance activities within operations
  • Compile, audit & report monthly mill improvement results
  • Develop standards for machinery suppliers, rebuilders and contractors
  • Define required reliability improvement needs, create budget
  • Review industry and other large manufacture processes for best in class practices
  • Sponsor the TA planning process
  • Build systems that link stores purchases, rebuilds and equipment storage to improve reliability
  • Develop staff
  • Promote and generally support the development, maintenance and adherence to Canfor’s Safety Policy

 

 

Skills, Experience, Knowledge and Required Competencies:

 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance leadership role within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Solid understanding and application of preventative maintenance, planning and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to successfully support the implementation of new systems, equipment and optimization.
  • Advanced knowledge and working familiarity with CMMS systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and consult at all levels of the organization and to collaborate with managers, staff and hourly employees in order to achieve excellent preventative maintenance standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong leadership ability and sound judgment skills.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate - written and verbal.
