Supervisor/Planner, Fab Shop Maintenance - Northwood Pulp

 

The Opportunity:
Canfor is currently seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Fab Shop Maintenance Supervisor/Planner.

The Role:
With safety as a first priority, you will supervise multi-trade crews engaged in project fabrication, and regular maintenance work for Prince George Pulp and Paper, and Intercon Pulp. You will apply your knowledge of piping systems, including, but not limited to, stainless steel, carbon steel, and FRP in large and small bore sizes. Knowledge of pulp mill processes/equipment would be considered an asset. The following knowledge and experience would be considered assets to this position:

  • Knowledge of PP101, and PP107 weld procedures for pressure piping, as well as any other procedures involving exotic metals such as Duplex SS, titanium etc
  • Experience with CWB procedures, certification etc.  CWB supervisor certification would also be an asset.
  • Experience working in a fabrication shop where pressure pipe systems are fabricated
  • Experience with structural metal fabrication, IE platforms, ladders etc.
  • Experience with developing ITP, following QAQC procedures, documentation tracking for Pressure piping
  • Experience with fire suppression system maintenance/repair and testing

 

The Candidate:

  • You will have, at minimum, post-secondary education in a technical field or a trade qualification, preferably in the welding and pipefitting trades. Welding inspector certification would also be considered an asset.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills as well as the flexibility to handle constantly changing work priorities are essential as is computer proficiency.
  • Supervisory experience would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills
