Pulpmill TA - Temporary Certified Instrument Mechanic


The Opportunity:
Canfor is currently looking for Temporary Certified Instrument Mechanics to assist in our annual mill maintenance shutdown
in the Spring of 2020.  Further information regarding dates will follow. Dates are subject to change

*When applying for this role, please make sure you attach a copy of your red seal documents to your profile. 

*Please note there will be a day shift and a night shift during Canfor’s maintenance shutdown. You must be willing to work either shift in order to be considered for the role.

Who you are:
A talented and experienced trades professional looking for some exciting and challenging work and a chance to be a part of one of BC’s Top Employers.

You will put your red seal/trades certification to the test in this role as you support our production and maintenance teams with various projects during our turnaround.

Required Skills:

  • Red seal or Interprovincial TQ certification
  • Superior troubleshooting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Solid background in heavy industry and construction
  • Knowledge of the pulp and paper industry is an asset
  • Previous shutdown/maintenance outage experience is also considered an asset

Living out Allowance:

Canfor will provide living out allowance to successful out of town trades candidates hired for our shutdown.

Successful candidates may be required to complete a background check prior to being hired on at Canfor. You must be willing to complete this in order to be considered for the role.
