The Opportunity:

Canfor is currently looking for Temporary Certified Instrument Mechanics to assist in our annual mill maintenance shutdown for the duration of September 15th to September 21st, 2019. When applying for this role, please make sure you attach a copy of your red seal documents to your profile. 
 

 

*Please note their will be a day shift and a night shift for our shutdown. You must be willing to work either shift in order to be considered for the role.

Required Skills:

  • Red seal or Interprovincial TQ
  • Superior troubleshooting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Solid background in heavy industry and construction
  • Knowledge of the pulp and paper industry is an asset as well as experience with welding procedures and equipment reliability
  • Previous shutdown/maintenance outage experience is also considered an asset
     

Living out Allowance:

Canfor will provide living out allowance to successful out of town trades candidates hired for our shutdown.
 

Employment Rates

Temporary Certified Journeypersons with Canfor will be paid $43.58 per hour.

Overtime may occasionally be offered during the turnaround to complete projects.

 

Reference Checks

Successful candidates may be required to complete reference checks prior to being hired on at Canfor. You must be willing to complete these in order to be considered for the role.
