The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Regional Talent Acquisition Manager and working within the Talent Acquisition department, you will be primarily responsible for performing a broad range of administrative duties in support of the team. As the Talent Acquisition Coordinator, you coordinate and manage various processes to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all talent acquisition activities. You also perform duties of a confidential nature that require strong knowledge of Canfor’s policies, practices, and procedures.



  • Support full cycle recruitment within the Talent Acquisition department
  • Create and maintain various job descriptions for new and existing positions
  • Post and maintain jobs online, internally and on external recruitment websites
  • Screen entry level resumes and correspond with candidates
  • Research and manage job advertisements
  • Maintain and update the Applicant Tracking System with templates, users and updates
  • Troubleshoot and act as the subject matter expert for the Applicant Tracking System
  • Arrange travel details and interviews with candidates including telephone pre-screens, individual, panel and WebEx interviews for positions from entry level to management
  • Responsible for coordinating testing, reference and background checks using systems and outside agencies, gathering new hire paperwork and updating applicant tracking system
  • Conduct follow up meetings with interview candidates to provide feedback
  • Provide updates to Talent Acquisition specialists on recruitment progress and analytics
  • Manage Employee Referral Program, Relocation Policy and Career Fairs


Required Skills:

  • Human Resources Management Certificate and/or related Diploma and a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in a recruitment, administrative or related role; or, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Superior organizational and project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, resourceful and able to proactively anticipate needs and provide solutions
  • Knowledge of employment law and regulations
  • Comfortable working in an environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment and the ability to use discretion and diplomacy while maintaining confidentiality, ethics and company standards
  • Proactive and collaborative team player with a strong customer service focus and natural ability to be part of the team
  • Excellent computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; extensive experience with web-based tools and the internet; experience in HTML is an asset
  • Previous experience with a Human Capital Management System or Applicant Tracking System would be an asset
