The Opportunity:
The Woodlands Accountant is part of the finance team providing relevant, accurate, timely information and analysis for the management team of the Forest Management Group, and participating in the continuous improvement of the business.

 

The Role:
The Woodlands Accountant is responsible for supporting the timely and accurate completion of the monthly financial close of actual results, forecasting, and related reporting.

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and forecasting.
  • Assist operational staff by providing financial information for departmental cost control, cost/benefit analysis, and related continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a solid understanding of operational business practices.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate standards, policies, and GAAP.
  • Complete transactional accounting duties related to woodlands.
  • Provide support for other accounting positions as required.

 

The Candidate:

  • Recognized accounting designation is preferred; senior level students with a commitment to complete their designation will be considered.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Office Suite of products)
  • Strong management skills; excellent interpersonal skills; highly motivated, self-starter; consummate team player

 

This position ideally will be based out of Houston BC; however, we are open to remote working situations with frequent travel to the Houston operation.
