The Opportunity:


The Supervisor in Training, Wood Products is a developmental role which will report to assigned mentors. The position will offer a unique experience where professional skills will be applied in an operating manufacturing environment. Based on the requirements of the operation, a developmental plan will be implemented, providing the successful candidate the opportunity to gain the skills required for a supervisory position. Learning will be hands on and you will gain firsthand supervisory experience and leadership development at one of BC’s Top Employers.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Assist in maintaining the highest standards of safety at all times, leading by example and ensuring all employees follow policies, procedures and practices
  • Address unsafe conditions as required
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to reduce cost, while safely meeting production targets.
  • Actively participate in coaching, training and supporting team members to maximize performance
  • Foster a culture of open communication with employees at all levels
  • Assist in ensuring the timely implementation of key Corporate and Operational Initiatives



  • Desire to build a career in the Forest Products Industry
  • Highly motivated individual with a strong initiative
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Safe work habits and a working knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Regulations
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work in a team environment
  • Willingness to relocate to Canfor operations in BC and Alberta
