The Opportunity:


The Forestry Superintendent is responsible for coordinating the divisional planning and permitting activities as identified to meet the planned harvest volume for the respective manufacturing facilities. The Forestry Superintendent will work collaboratively with the Operations Superintendent and Regional Harvest Planner to achieve the overall goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Ensuring planned volume meets manufacturing facility requirements for profile, fibre quality and cost.
  • Managing volume to meet 3-year plan targets.
  • Maintain a sustainable workforce of qualified contractors.
  • Tracking, reporting and root cause analysis of safety, quality, cost and delivery results.
  • Demonstrate innovation by implementing efficiencies and cost savings through performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications:
 

The successful candidate will bring the following experience and expertise:

  • Minimum of 10 years of related forestry experience.
  • Registered as an RPF, RFT or eligible for registration with the Association of BC Forest Professionals
  • University Degree or Technical Diploma.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills, with an ability to work in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable BC Legislation and policies.
  • Excellent computer skills and related software experience including forestry applications
