The Opportunity:
Our Canfor Houston Woodlands division is currently seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Forestry Field Operations Staff.

The Role:
Field Operations Staff will be responsible for layout and/or timber cruising activities. Responsibilities may include photo interpretation and stratification, layout of cutblocks and roads, traversing, pest identification and management, riparian/stream classification, layout reports, cutting permit applications, development of cruise plans, operational cruising and mapping of field information, ecotyping, field resource assessments and assisting Forestry Supervisors as required.

 

The Candidate:

  • Preference will be given to applicants enrolled or graduated from a forestry program or related field, however anyone with forestry experience is encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has the ability to safely perform physically demanding fieldwork in a team environment, and possess a valid Class 5 driver's license.
