The Opportunity:

At our Hermanville sawmill, you won’t just be protecting property – you’ll be safeguarding people, equipment, and operations. This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week and may include nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

 

 

What you will do as a Security Guard:

  • Patrol the sawmill premises, including buildings, equipment areas, and perimeter fencing, to ensure site security.
  • Monitor and respond to alarms, investigate disturbances, and report incidents.
  • Control access at gates and entry points, verifying credentials of employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Identify and report fire hazards, safety violations, or signs of unauthorized access.
  • Support safety compliance by observing and reporting unsafe conditions or behaviors.
  • Assist with hot work permitting by performing fire watch duties as needed.

  • Physically capable of performing repetitive tasks for long hours such as walking, standing, and climbing stairs in an industrial environment.
  • Comfortable working around loud noise, dust, and moving equipment in all weather conditions.
  • Previous experience in security or industrial settings is an asset, along with the ability to operate alarm systems and emergency equipment.
  • Strong observation and communication skills with a keen eye for detail and safety.
