Job Description: Shipping Groundsman 

Department: Shipping / Yard Operations 

Reports To: Shipping Supervisor / Yard Supervisor 

 

Position Summary 

The Shipping Groundman supports daily shipping and yard operations by maintaining safe, organized, and efficient grounds and assisting with the movement, staging, and loading of product. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

• Assist in staging, banding, and organizing finished product for shipment 

• Support loading and unloading of trucks and railcars 

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard and shipping areas 

• Identify and report safety hazards or damaged product 

• Assist equipment operators with ground guidance and spotting 

 

Safety 

• Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements 

• Report unsafe conditions immediately 

 

Qualifications 

• High School Diploma or GED preferred 

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions 

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
