As the Shipping Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of our shipping department. Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, you will work closely with team members and other departments to help meet production goals, maintain high safety standards, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations. You’ll be a go-to resource on the floor — leading by example, supporting your crew, and helping drive continuous improvement.
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, first-shift position.
What You’ll Do:
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by following all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions or behaviors and support corrective actions.
- Assist in coordinating daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and output targets.
- Provide on-the-floor leadership, coaching, and support to team members.
- Help train new employees and support skill development across the crew.
- Communicate effectively with the Shipping Supervisor, maintenance, and other departments to resolve issues and maintain workflow.
- Monitor product quality and assist with troubleshooting equipment or process issues.
- Support the implementation of operational initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
What You Bring:
- 1-3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in shipping.
- Previous experience in a lead hand or informal leadership role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.

- Prior experience in shipping or lumber manufacturing environment.
- Maintenance knowledge or mechanical aptitude.
