Operations Manager

A day in the life of the Operations Manager includes: 

• Champion Canfor's Safety Comes First culture and ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and operational teams to achieve business objectives.
• Optimize production, recovery, quality, and operational efficiency across the mill.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a culture of accountability and performance.
• Support business planning, budget management, cost control, and operational strategy execution.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and support teams to improve reliability and overall mill performance.
• Build strong relationships across the operation while fostering employee engagement and development.

For this role come equipped with the following: 

• 5+ years of leadership experience in wood products manufacturing or a similar industrial environment.
• Strong commitment to safety leadership and operational excellence.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage performance, and drive continuous improvement.
• Sound knowledge of sawmill operations, production processes, and cost management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and an understanding of business and financial principles.
