Training Coordinator

Opportunity:

The Training Coordinator is responsible for organizing and arranging safety, on-the-job, operational, and values training for all employees on the plant site. The Training Coordinator assists with safety and operational orientation for all new hires. They follow-up with new hires frequently to confirm training requirements are met. The Training Coordinator engages with the employee and management to create and maintain the employee’s career development plan and training needs.

Responsibilities:

- The Training Coordinator tours new hires of the entire facility, talks with new hires about safety requirements of his/her job (JSA), goes over in detail the safety process, safety expectations, hazard recognition and awareness, and explains site-specific safety rules. Explains PPE requirements, clothing requirements, protocol for safety-specific violations, e.g., lock out violations, etc., and promotes safety committee involvement.

- Observes new hires while working; provides feedback on areas of opportunity and successes of his/her work style. Has regular meetings with Superintendents and Supervisors (Manager) to discuss progress and performance.

- Consults with Mill Management, i.e., Manager, Superintendent, Supervisor, etc., on areas of training and performance. Takes suggestions on employee performance, areas for improvement. Works with employee to achieve consultation suggestions

- Works with HR resources including Talent Development to provide the employee with a training path to achieve career goals. Discusses career plans, training options, and pathing needs to get from Point A to Point B. (Succession Journey)

- Supports, engages, and documents pathing journey with employee until fulfilled. Revises as necessary, gets necessary approvals from production management.

- Certifies trainers in each department (Train the Trainer)

- Evaluates Trainers to ensure consistency and effectiveness of on-the-job training

- Trains and documents any safety changes that are necessary. This includes mill specific or CSP-wide.

- Documents and trains employees on any SOP changes and job description for every production job in the mill.

- The Training Coordinator is required to join and attend the Safety Committee for his/her mill.

- Assist the Regional Safety Manager on overall divisional safety and health responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

- A degree in Human Resources, Safety Management, or a related field preferred but not required

- Minimum 3-year experience in workplace health and safety compliance

- Solid understanding and application of Health and Safety Regulations and knowledgeable in the applicable standards

- Ability to successfully support the implementation and ongoing improvement of safety management programs and policies

- Well-developed verbal, written, and oral presentation and communication skills.

- Experience, willingness, and ability to use technology to communicate and carry out job responsibilities

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Ability to handle multiple assignments and assess and analyze data

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively, collaborate and consult at all levels of the organization to achieve excellence in health and safety standards
