As the Permitting Supervisor, your role will encompass a range of important responsibilities related to cutting permit acquisition and overseeing project management. Your contributions will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth progression of various tasks, including appraisals, site plans, and field activities. This position is a full-time member of the Kootenay Woodlands Team and will be located out of our Cranbrook office.

 

The life of the Forestry (Permitting) Supervisor includes:

  • Working collaboratively with our Indigenous partners and the Canfor Forest Planning Team
  • Ensuring activities are conducted in compliance with all applicable Occupational Health and Safety Requirements, Forestry Legislation, Canfor’s Environmental Policy, Forestry Principles, and Forestry Management System
  • Managing and completing all activities associated with Cutting Permit and Road Permit Acquisitions, including Appraisals Site Plans, Engineered Cost Estimates, etc
  • Implementing and improving stumpage management best practices

 

For this role, come equipped with:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as an RPF or RFT with the Association of BC Forest Professionals 
  • Associated university degree or technical diploma with related forestry experience
  • Knowledge of applicable BC forestry and related legislation and policies

 

Ideally, you have experience working with Indigenous groups and a past in archeological surveys, riparian & eco classification, terrain stability, and visual impact assessments. You also have basic GIS skills such as map making and some previous fieldwork.

The salary range for this position is: $80,000.00-$100,000.00
