Forester in Training

As a Forester-in-Training, you will be an integral part of the Canfor Woodlands team, gaining hands-on experience across all key forestry functions. This entry-level role includes rotation through silviculture, planning, permitting, and harvesting departments, ensuring you develop a well-rounded skill set and understanding of each area. A day in the life of a Forester-in-Training includes:

• Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
• Implementing efficiencies and cost-saving initiatives.
• Completing planning activities and necessary assessments.
• Handling permitting, appraisals, and site plans.
• Overseeing harvest supervision and silviculture activities.

For this role, you’ll come equipped with:

• A bachelor’s degree in forestry or a related field (preferred).
• A strong understanding of forestry principles and practices.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A willingness to learn and adapt to various forestry functions.

The salary range for this position is: $69,000.00-$86,000.00
