The Maintenance Planner is a key member of the Maintenance Team and, as such, is responsible for the planning of preventative maintenance and ensuring work is performed without undue risk. The focus will be on building and maintaining a strong maintenance plan and delegating and scheduling work orders to achieve cost-effective results in accordance with machine PMs to optimize their performance. A key part of this role will be to plan out the daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance work functions. This role is a permanent full-time position working Monday through Friday.
What you will do as a Maintenance Planner:
- Ensure all maintenance work follows safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Plan and schedule routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs.
- Ensure necessary resources (manpower, materials, tools) are available for maintenance activities.
- Work with maintenance supervisors, plant managers, and project managers to execute maintenance tasks without disrupting operations.
- Track the progress of maintenance tasks and report on performance, downtime, and reliability.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance plans, schedules, work orders, equipment histories, and logs.
- Participate in initiatives to improve maintenance efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance equipment reliability (e.g., vibration analysis systems).
- Assist in budgeting for maintenance activities and control costs by optimizing resources and minimizing downtime.
Experience and skills that will help you stand out:
- 2+ years in industrial maintenance (sawmill experience preferred).
- Strong leadership and maintenance planning capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiar with OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
- Experience with electronic maintenance systems (e.g., MP2, EAM) is an asset.
- Skilled in reading technical documents and writing clear reports.
- Strong analytical and mathematical abilities.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing hands-on tasks.
