Warehouse Attendant

POSITION: Purchasing Clerk

DEPARTMENT: Central Maintenance

 

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Clerk is an important member of the Maintenance Team, the successful applicant will be an energetic team player who will assist with the Maintenance and Purchasing departments in tracking, organizing, ordering and maintaining the maintenance equipment, parts and tools. The incumbent will also provide coverage for the Purchasing Manager during their absence.

Responsibilities

 

  • Work closely with the Purchasing Manager and Maintenance Planner to ensure the mill has ample and available supplies
  • Keep parts room and work area clean, organized and safe
  • Administration of inventory purchase orders, requisitions, and transfers
  • Manage inventory counts as required
  • Issue weigh bills
  • Send requisitions for pricing
  • Coordinate shipping of materials
  • Daily filing of maintenance and purchasing documentation
  • Additional administrative duties that support the maintenance team

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial setting, maintenance environment preferred
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel and the ability to learn new programs
  • Previous parts person/buyer experience would be an asset
  • Exceptionally organized and courteous
  • Ability to work both independently and in multiple team environments
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

 

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
