This role is a permanent full-time position which will require weekend work as part of a rotating schedule of four days on, three days off, followed by three days on, four days off.
What you will do as a Boiler Helper:
- Dump ash collection boxes using a front‑end loader and clean any spilled ash from the ground.
- Feed and handle boiler fuel (sawdust and pine bark) using a front‑end loader.
- Sweep and clean the boiler area using brooms and shovels.
- Clear clogged fuel‑handling equipment, including shoveling fuel as needed.
- Pull and rake sand from the boiler as part of routine maintenance.
- Support the Boiler Operator by ensuring consistent fuel flow and maintaining a clean, safe work area.
- Work outdoors in varied weather conditions, including hot and cold environments.
Experience and skills that will help you stand out:
- Experience operating forklifts, front‑end loaders, or other heavy equipment.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. repetitively.
- Comfortable performing manual labor, including shoveling, raking, and lifting.
- Basic computer skills or the ability to learn required systems.
- Ability to work safely in outdoor conditions and in physically demanding environments.
