Boiler Helper
Assist the Boiler Operator by maintaining a consistent fuel flow to the Boiler and performing cleanup duties in the area.
Essential duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the Boiler Helper include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Dumping of ash collection boxes every three hours using front end loader. This includes cleaning all spilt ash from the ground. (2 hour/day)
- Feeding and handling of boiler fuel which is comprised of saw dust and pine bark. Using front end loader. (7 hours/day)
- Sweeping and cleaning of the boiler area using brooms and shovels.
(1 hour/day)
- Manual clearing of any clogged fuel handling equipment. (Shoveling fuel) (1 hour/day)
- Pulls Sand. Rakes sand out of Boiler. (1 hour/day)
Work Environment and Schedule:
- Works Outdoors for most of the day.
- Exposure to hot and cold conditions.
- 12 hour shifts
- Weekend work. 4 on / 3 off and 3 on / 4 off every other week
Qualifications:
- Experience operating forklifts and heavy equipment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally and 20 lbs. on a repetitive basis
- Able to perform manual labor including: shoveling, raking, and lifting
- Computer skills or the ability to learn
