POSITION: Utility (Shipping Dept)

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION

Operates machinery and equipment that wraps and tag lumber that will be prepared for shipment on railcars. Climbs on top of railcar (about 25 ft) to assist with loading and tying down the required amount of railcars daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the Utility position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Pulling lumber packs that are getting ready for shipment
• Covering the outside of the packs with the wrapping to protect against the elements.
• Using a stapler to secure tags and wrapping
• Stapling the end tags to the lumber pieces displaying the appropriate specifications.
• Climbing approximately 25 ft off the ground on top of railcar (with safety harness) to assist with tying down lumber on each railcar

Physical Demands:

• Standing and walking
• Using hands to touch, handle, or feel
• Reaching with hands and arms
• Climbing on top of railcar (approximately 25 ft)
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling (On an as needed basis)
• Lifting and/or moving from 5 to 30 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and lifting and/or moving from 5 to 50 lbs., as needed

Work Environment:

• Moving mechanical parts
• Outside weather conditions
• Vibration
• High noise levels
