AXIS SAWMILL
POSITION: Round Table Operator
SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
To stack trim blocks that are made by the Graders while monitoring quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the Roundtable Operator include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- The employee is trained to determine which trim blocks will be stacked for customer use and which blocks will be sent to the hog for shaving.
- The employee is responsible for cutting up all 4’ and 6’ blocks that do not meet the Stacking Standards so that they can be fed into the hog
- All 4’ and 6’ blocks will be stamped with an Auditing Agency stamp that labels the material as Heat Treated. This is done by using a hand stamping mallet and is placed on these boards by the Roundtable Operator.
- The operator is also responsible for performing all assigned housekeeping in and around the work area
Qualifications
- Employee must be able to work at an above average pace to keep up with normal production flow
- Employee is required to stack blocks from 2’ to 6’ in length on a repetitive basis
- Employee must also be able to lift anywhere from 5 lbs. To 30 lbs. and have knowledge of how to properly operate a skill saw and chip saw

Quality Assurance
- This operator is responsible for the quality of all blocks and material produced at the machine center.
- All employees are expected to monitor the quality of not only the material in their work area, but also assist in notifying management if and when an out of control quality issue is identified in other work areas.
Safety
- Safety equipment includes a hardhat, safety glasses, hearing protection and gloves
- Lockout devices include one certified lock
