Indigenous Talent Program

We’re committed to working in partnership with Indigenous communities to create opportunities for their participation in the forest economy. We’ve provided an application guide and answered some frequently asked questions.

Thank you for your interest in our program and we look forward to hearing from you!

Application Guide

Step 1: Do You Identify as an Indigenous Person?

To apply for the Indigenous Talent Program, you must be an Indigenous person. If you self-declare and formally state that you are Indigenous, Canfor offers additional support to assist with the application process, resume building and/or interview preparation, and will introduce you to our Indigenous Employment and Training Advisor.

Please use the definition below to make sure you’re eligible and open to self-declaring as an Indigenous person:

Indigenous Peoples in Canada and the United States include status, non-status First Nation, Métis and Inuit people.

  • Only those Indigenous persons who come from Canada and the United States should identify themselves as belonging to this designated group.
  • Other Indigenous peoples, such as those from Mexico, Central and South America, Australia or elsewhere, should identify themselves as members of a visible minority group.

Step 2: Prepare Your Application

If you identify as an Indigenous job seeker, you may access additional support for your application from our Employment and Training Advisor. Please email inclusion@canfor.com if you would like support with your resume or interview preparation.

Step 3: Apply Online

When applying online you can specify the position of interest by providing the job title and/or job requisition number or indicate if there is a specific area of interest. After submitting your application and resume, it will be reviewed by Talent Acquisition. You will receive an email when you are matched with a position and may be required to provide additional information.

If you don’t have a position or specific department in mind, we can help match your skills and interests to current career opportunities at Canfor. Our Indigenous Employment and Training Advisor will have an open discussion with you to explore your career aspirations and find the best opportunity catered to your needs.

We are happy to assist if you’re having difficulty applying. Feel free to email us at inclusion@canfor.com and we will contact you to help with the application process.
